For students with foundational experience and understanding of herbs and herbal medicine, we offer advanced classes covering all elements of practical and professional herbalism.
Advanced classes are offered in two nine-month segments, with an exam in between. The first nine months focuses on advanced pathology, materia medica, and clinical skills. We will also start to incorporate new modalities into your training, including appropriate use of movement, structural integration, lifestyle amendment, and more! We will work more deeply into formulation, with specific emphasis on formulating herbal preparations appropriate to your client’s constitution.
In the second 9 months, as your classes continue, you will be ready to begin seeing clients for yourselves. You’ll see a specified number of clients each month, write up case reports, and submit them for round table review. Faculty members read and comment on the case, providing answers to questions and making suggestions. We meet for a monthly roundtable discussion of each case that was seen in clinic. In this way, you multiply your clinical experience manyfold!
Classes meet one full weekend a month, and homework meetings are scheduled one or more weeknight a month. Clinical time is scheduled separately.
